Heater motor Swap

Want to point me to the topic on it.  Sure I read about it on here some where.

  I need to do some work on mine.  Had to use the heater on early morning and had to shut it down some wiring smelled like it was burning.  Have not needed it since.  But need to get it working before winter.

  Will get the resistor never replaced mine so that could be it.

  But sure we had a topic on which year motor was the best one to use.

Well the YJ's don't have the same issues like the TJ's do with the ballast resistor.  Since it's a '94 I'd jsut say the motor finally gave up.  Just get a replacement motor.  There is no better upgrade then the stock for late model YJ's.

if the resistor goes usually the high speed is still working so that's probably not it (and to be honest i don't even know where it is :lol:)

Its up behind the right speaker or thats where my book says it is.  It still does work on High.  But  each time I do I get the burning wiring smell.

maybe the motor winding is out and it burned the ballast resistors, but in that case i would think the fuse would go out on high so i don't know.

Smelled enough wiring burning to know the smell.  The smell was not that bad, but it really had my eyes watering.

Just got the resister in and will try that 1st cause I can get to that without to much hassle. You can even see it when you look under the dash.  its the 2 wire plug just below the right speaker.

Got the resistor  put in and that seems to be what it was I now have all fan speeds now.  Used to only have med and High.

Had to work on the jeep today. They say the weather is changing and I needed to put the soft top back on while it was still warm enough to make it easy.

But its too warm.
