I think the only Jeep I'd probably consider buying is the Cherokee Trailhawk. Throw on some BFG KO's with a little bigger meat and a rack on top and it could be a nice family expo rig. The front looks better in person. I just wish there was a diesel option or a manual. Although the auto is probably necessary for the traction control and offroad settings for the transfer case. It does have lower gears then the Wrangler. Also the rear locking differential. I bet you could do the Trans-American Trail. I don't think I'd take it to the Rubicon though.
I also saw the Toyota Life Time Rav-4. Now I don't usually like the Rav-4 but this one looked decent. They did this one for SEMA. It's an AWD with a shower so when you come out off the beach. Interesting concept. It's in the same class as the Cherokee as well.
