If he ditched the light and splurged on two Lock-Rights, he'd be golden.  Those Warn lights are around $380 a pair.

Would love to get to drive an old cj5 or a cj3b with the f134 some day.

Without powersteering a front locker would be rough but i agree that a rear lockright would have been the way to go in the flat fender rather than the big light.

With stock tires, it shouldn't be that bad.  If there wasn't a budget, I'd probably do an old school, Tru-Trac/Detroit combo.

This was at the Offroad Expo a few months ago.  I think someone did an article on it but I can't remember who.

I didn't think there was a locker option for the original axles other than the lockright because of the low spline count... that willys looks way too familiar for some reason...

Yeah, if you want to run stock, you're limited to the Power-Lok and Lock-Right with the 10 spline shafts.  Gotta swap to 19 or 30 spline to use most aftermarket differentials.  The Lock-Right CJ2A has a D30/D44 combo swapped in.

Cool trip.  Reminds me of my (sold) GPW.  Without a roll bar, I like like how those Jeeps are both low and high at the same time.  One time I drove under a railroad bridge that other Jeeps could not go under, fun times.

If I got a CJ3B I would look into high-lineing the front fenders to run a regular flat-fender hood (like below). Although I didn't like the look of a YJ until I got one so who knows.
