TJ fuel pressure??
« on: July 12, 2016, 12:29:18 AM »
Gentlemen, is there a fitting where I can tap in to measure fuel pressure coming from the fuel pump? If can, can you give the location and maybe a picture? Neither of my manuals show one but I figure there must be a way.
Thanks,  Hunter

There's a special took for that.  Basically you're going to run an inline adapter to the fuel line.

I think you should be able to use a universal fuel pressure gauge kit too.

There should be a Schrader fitting (looks like a bicycle tire valve) on your fuel rail (pipe on top of motor).  You hook the pressure gauge to the fitting.  It will spit some fuel when you connect, so be careful not to start a fire.

They got rid of that on the TJ.

That's a shame. That's what I had been hoping for.

Hunter, sorry for the bad info.  My 1998 TJ (4.0 liter) has the Schrader valve like my 1995 YJ (2.5 liter).
