Just had a quick question. I changed my plugs, wires, cap and rotor about a year ago and put on about 16k since the change. Would I be helping anything if I changed my plugs yearly? Champion truck plugs are about $2/each and thats only $8 to change them. Is it worth it after one year and 16k?

once a year i change my oil, spark plugs, cap, and rotor.....

don't know if it needs it but it's preventative maintenance and it's cheap

ok well truth me known i haven't changed my oil in 2 years BUT i originally changed it once a year, lol

i change my plugs a lot but once a year should be fine.  chrysler says every 30k.  I would switch brands though.  I had my jeep dynoed to check plugs and even though the factory says champion plugs(cause they are cheap) they prodecued the lowest power rating.  the highest I saw was autolite resistors which are also the cheapest plugs you can find.  All the multipoint plugs just wear out fast and can damage the motor with too much heat.  Use either autolite resistor and ngk r but the are pricey.  The ngk r are used in dodge/jeep vehicles that have emmission problems as a cheap solution from factory so you know they are the real deal.

Hmm, I don't change my sparkplugs one a year.  I sometimes check them once a year and regap them if they look good.  I think they last until someone wants to send me new ones. LOL!  :lol:

My current plugs are Autolite's.  I forget which ones but I believe they are the basic's.  I was sent them when I was doing R&D for an ignition kit.  They seem to work well.

I agree with YJMechanic.  NGK's are nice and do help a lot of engine's that have pinging and other problem.  I know this is the case with BMW's F650 bikes.  If you want to go with something more then the basic plug and less then Iridiums then I'd go with some Copper plugs.

NGK is want most honda guys run, may not mean much here, but 4 bangers putting out over 250whp all motor and over 700whp turbo is pretty good. NGK is what i like  :)
