I don't know what's best...   I know what I'm running and what I'm happy with.

I have a MSD 6AL with a blaster coil.  It works so I can't complain.  The problem with an ignition is the surrounding parts...   I put Moroso wires on it back when I did the ignition...  spark plugs too...   well these things get old.  I know that it's time to replace both.

Well there isn't much you can do with the distributor.  ALthough there are many choices for coils.

I used to run a Jacobs Omni-Pak with MSD 8mm wire and Accel plugs.  Gapped at .055".  I put this together back in '94.  I did have problems with a slight misfire under a light load at 3000rpm.  Although this is com

If I had to do it again, I would have gone with a MSD 6AL since you can add more things to the box.  Timing controller, RPM limiters, etc.

Although my current setup is from Performance Distributors.  Rewound coil, 8.8mm wire with heat and abrasion resistance, Autolite plugs gapped at .065".

You can adjust timing through the PCM or by moving the CPS and using a timing light.

There are some stuff from HKS and other companies that will address timing also.
