Elyod.  Just an update.  If you do not do a belly up then you will proably be ok.  I'd do a 1" MML to help though.  The belly pan screws up angle real quick.  Infact it has been a pain in the ass but the results are pretty nice, a little over 19" of ground clearance with 33's.   I had a conventional drive shaft and really hoped I could use it but my T-case angle is horrible so adjustable control arms and a cv shaft will be hear next week.

Thanks for the information.  From everything i have gathered from everyone I think I will just do a standard SYE (cheapest NON hack and tap) and go to a junkyard to find an xj front driveshaft, after all, Storing crap outside is all Phoenix is good for.

Hey I dont mean to Hijack your thread...

I ordered an AA HD sye and tom woods cv ds. And they want the measurement for the ds. I cant give it to them yet bc the lift isn't on and the 8.8 is not in. Can anyone help. I have 5.5 inch springs for the rear to put in. has anyone gone this route before and they can maybe tell me what length their ds is. Thanks alot Mike

If its not a DD or if you can wait until you get the SYE installed I would wait.  If thats not possible you could always make an educated guess, if you know how much longer the 8.8 is and how much shorter the sye willl make things.  I can tell you that a 2.5L with an auto, a D-44 and, and a dirty fabworks T-case skid, a 4" suspension lift, and a teraflex extreme short sye uses a 21" ds.  With all of the changes that you are making I would just see if you could wait until you are finished with everything else.

Are you the one Troy just delivered the DirtyFab bellyup skid to?  Small world.

Thats me, that skid is nice.  So I guess you are up there too.  Troy hauled that skid all the way down here and the whole time he was on vacation just because he would be driving through.  Seems like a nice group of guys at Dirty Fabworks.

Great bunch, they are in the same town as I, and we've been in the same jeep club for years.  Couldn't ask for a better bunch to hang out and wheel with.  I'll tell 'em I ran into you on 4BU.
