95 YJ bogs, stumbles

Hi all - new poster here (thought I had some posts a few years ago but alas...)  anyway, 95 Wrangler SE, 2.5L, 132k miles, no A/C,  idles rough (pops, poofs and sputters) and bogs down at low RPM with moderate throttle.  Clears up around 2k rpm or so.  Last year I put new plugs (don't recall which brand but will check - saw the recommendation for Champions only elsewhere), wires, cap and rotor.  Last weekend I pulled and cleaned the TB (it was very dirty).  Now it runs fine cold, but is still rough when warm.

No CEL, but I see Codes 12 (but the battery has NOT been disconnected in at least 6 months) and 33 (saw someone mention 33 is a/c related?)

A couple of years ago I replaced the cat and muffler - the cheap chinese replacement muffler broke the welds loose at its inlet and outlet pipe a while ago (not fixed yet) so the exhaust leaks (any relevance?)

You might try changing your coil.  You can justify it because it is good to carry a spare.

33 is the air conditioning clutch relay.

Couple ideas, dirty fuel system?  Clogged moving air.
Sounds like something isn't moving through the engine, either air or fuel.

Assuming fuel....
Maybe you need a fuel filter or new injectors or something like that?  Maybe the fuel pump.  You can try spraying some starting fluid into the intake track.  If it clears up and smooths out there is a good chance you aren't getting fuel.

Assuming air....
Maybe you have a clog, could easily be that your CAT finally gave out, got messed up, isn't working properly.  Check the fuel stuff first if the starting fluid trick doesn't change anything it may be air delivery or exhaust so look through those things.

I am guessing your good for spark, so I am basing my assumptions on having a solid ignition and spark.

Check the spark plugs to see how they look.  It will hopefully help tell you whats up.  I'm thinking Fuel Filter or Fuel pump.  If an injector isn't working, you'll know it.  The engine will run really rough and feel really weak when moving.  Also, it should send up a CEL if the injector's not working.  Although it could be half working or fouled at the filter on the top on the injector.

Buy a can of SeaFoam at the auto parts sto' and follow the instructions for sucking it into the intake through the brake vacuum.

Then dump the rest into the fuel tank.

Looks like I got it fixed (cross fingers).  Last summer I put in new plugs, wires, cap and rotor, so I just "assumed" they were good.  I pulled the plugs (Champion RC12YC or something like that - can't recall exactly the last 2 characters).  All four look like I would expect for less than 10k miles - light tan deposit on a small part of the core.  The distributor cap, on the other hand, looked like crap - looked worse than the original one I pulled at over 100k miles.  Contacts were heavily carboned and almost looked like the rotor was riding below the contacts by the way they were burned.  Anyway, I broke one of the plugs reinstalling, so that decided a trip to the parts store was in order.  Replaced the plugs with Champion 4412 truck plugs, gapped at .040, stuck a new cap and rotor on it (positioned the rotor a little higher than full down, to where I could feel the coil contact depress the rotor spring a little) and it seems like it's running right now.

 - Air filter was fairly new and clean
 - Cat was replaced last year
 - Need to replace fuel filter - bought a new one this spring and never got a round to it ...
 - CPS ?  Is this in the bottom of the distributor?  Was a little dirty - sprayed it clean with electrical contact cleaner
 - probably wouldn't hurt to clean up the injectors - injector cleaner in the fuel tank or the sea foam treatment?
 - need to weld up the muffler or replace with something better
