Instrument panel lights...HELP!!
« on: May 08, 2007, 06:50:31 PM »
Hey folks,

The lights on my instrument cluster went out last night on the way home. So I took it apart today, only to find that there seems to be 5 illumination bulbs for the instrument panel. This confuses me because it's certain that they all didn't burn out at the same time. The rest of the cluster works fine.

Is there something I should know here? Do I have a short somewhere? Just when I pull out the switch, nothing happens...except that my headlights still turn on. However, the odometer doesn't dim like before.

You'll want to trace the circuits back to the harness.  I'd first check to make sure all the plugs are seated.  Failing that I'd probably double check the bulbs to make sure they aren't all bad. (a overload could ahve burnt them all out.)  The other option is the headlight switch itself.
