Topic: rti ramp / f350 question

hello, my names Tyson ive been watching the boards for a bit and figured now is a good time to say hi and ask a question or two to see if anyone can help me out.. first ive been considering building myself a rti ramp and was wondering if anyone knew of a blueprint of a design might be found ? and second question .. i have run across a 1980 f350 i havent gone to look at it yet but was wondering if anyone knew what axles they ran that year i know it's a 302 ,at ,4x4,   i know they run d60s in some f350s but i dont know the years they did this. if  anyone has an idea  is apreciate it

Also, chances are that F350 most likely has D60's under it.  Here's an axle guide that'll help, they're all over the net, so if this one isn't helping, you can find another!

The RTI ramp will really depend on what you want to do with it.  They started off at 20 Degree's but soon moved to 30 Degree's.  The link above is a decent ramp.  If you're planning on building a RTI ramp just to show off, I wouldn't even bother.  RTI's are used to put a number on suspension articulation in relation to wheelbase.  The RTI is used as a tool to see what may limit a suspension.  They are not a good gauge on how well the vehicle will do offroad though.

A 1980 F350 would probably have a Dana 50 IFS.  If you're lucky, it would have a Dana 60 High-pinion that was used in 1979.  But that's IF it's 4wd.  I doubt any 3/4 -1 Ton would have a puny 302cid though. That's half-ton range.


Here's a list of  Dana listed for a 1980 F-350. (A F250 would have a D60)

You're also looking at an axle with a WMS of 69.25".

thanks for the help this forum has been a great source of info. as for the ramp im trying to build my jeep for the road /offroad  balance and i think it would be a helpfull tool in finding my limits
