Topic: YJ Fuel Rail Compatable with TJ? 2.5l

im goin to try and bid on this fuel rail i found on ebay for a 2.5l.  The guy says its new but a few yrs old and i need new injectors. If they are new as he says i cant beat the price hes offering.  My question is, if they happen to be from a YJ-i dont know if they are-could they fit into my TJ 2.5?  here is the ebay link..id appreciate any info...so long as you guys dont bid on them lol

Looks like a OBD-I fuel rail.  I wonder why it's painted black and has some generic looking injectors in it.

That is a YJ rail with Fuel Pressure Regulator.  If you want, I have a used one that I can give to you for free (just pay for the shipping).  I actually have 2, one new and one used, and I would be shipping you the used one (I want to keep the new one as a spare).  The used one did crack up at one point, but it was proffessionally welded and did not leak (I just replaced it because I figured a new one would just be better).  The new one I got showed a bit of rust on the inside, which is why I was sent another "new" one, which is the one I finally installed.  Anyway, I guess even though this one is far from new, being free should be of some interest to you...

well all i really want from this are the injectors....im hopin they're good to go. 2.5l injectors for a yj should be fine on a tj 2.5l right?

No.  Did you real the Fuel Injector thread in the FAQ?

Yeah, TJ uses bigger injectors...

i read the thread, a bit confusing with all the different kinds....2.5l and 4.0 are def different, first read through made me think 2.5l were the same but second time reading it im seeing different and now you guys have just confirmed this...its a good thing too cause i would have sprung for those injectors.  Thanks fellas guess ill have to bite the bullet and spend the $350 or so on new TJ ones...unless i can find some for cheaper...maybe you guys know  a place?

I dont think it is, as the YJ has the FPR on the rail and uses a return line (I understand that the TJ has the FPR in the tank and no return line), but I am not familiar with the TJ fuel rail...
