I am new here...but a regular on Jeepforum.com

help me figure out what i am doing with my engine....

when i got my jeep it had a blown 1992 2.5L in it and i put a 1995 2.5L that was from a junkyard.....the engne runs well but i think the timing might be off and i have vaccuum leaks becasue of a hose i can't find a home for it. it stall at stop lights, doesnt run very smooth and there might be an exhaust leak too........

i am not sure what i am going to be able to figure this out for myself...

i m very mechanically inclined but i suck at diagnosis.....

Where is the other end of this vacuum hose connected?

MAP sensor on the firewall maybe?

Pictures or a detailed explanation would help.

As it stands, what you've told us is way too general to even start diagnosing the problem.

How do you know there is a vacuum leak?  What's the hose connected to?  Is the engine idle speed high?  How do you know the timing is off?  Does it run rough just when idling or when at speed?  How do you know there is an exhaust leak?  Hear it?  Smell it? Where?  Does the Check Engine Light come on?

Just guessing, I suspect you have two seperate things going on.  The hose, I'm guessing is the MAP line at the intake.  But that's just a guess from experiance.  Without knowing more, it's only a guess.
