Ramsey Winches

So I found a Ramsey Winch, 8000lb , for $300 dollars. It works, and isn't beat to hell, so now I need your advice.... is Ramsey a good brand????

What model is it?  REP8000?  $300 isn't too bad actually.  I've seen them for around $350 used. They are OK winches but you have to take some things into consideration.  The REP8000 is an older winch.  It uses a permanent magnet instead of the stronger electro magnets that the higher end winches use.  This allows the winch to use less amps when under a load.

In any case it's a decent entry level winch.

i have a ramsey rep 8000.  it's an oldie but works good and is reliable.  it's not the fastest but it works fine for the limited amount that i use it.
