Canvas top?
« on: October 13, 2008, 02:44:57 PM »
Hello all,
I read the soft tops 101 and noticed that there is not much info on the Canvas tops.  I saw some complete soft tops in Canvas for $400 new.

They are older design then denim, agreed:
1. they are darker leather looking?
2. Dark black as opposed to grayish with black denim?
3. Louder than denim tops?

Any comments folks!

I don't think anyone uses canvas anymore other then for vintage vehicles to stay correct.

They were replaced by denim for the same reason denim jeans are popular.  They are tough.  The only thing better then denim is multi-layer sail cloth.

Thanks Jeffy,

I ended up getting a Bestop Denim Wraparound top from Quadratec for $134 delivered.
I currently use the safari top with a tonnue cover, so I figured this will do. I live in N.Cal: no snow, light rain, heavy winds are rare.  So, for practicality I choose that one.  I will post pictures and a review in 2 weeks or so.
