Topic: soft top half door question

sooo, I know that on windy days and while on the high way the top half of the door is going to bend out a little bit. Is there any way to reduce the bending of the top half? The other day it was pretty windy and the door bent out quite a bit.

Common problem.  It's caused by the lower pressure air inside the top getting sucked out.  Most annoyingly this happens when it's raining or snowing.

You could try to bend the top of the door frames inwards so there is more pressure holding the upper closed.  A more PITA option would be to use string to pull the top of the door down.  You could also open the window a bit but then it's going to get noisier.

Best option would be to get Full doors.

how easy is it to fit full doors on a TJ? Not that I can get them any time soon....poor college student =/

I have so many plans that I want to do, I really want to lift it & get bigger tires but...

1. I have no money now
2. I'm not mechanically inclined so I'll need help
3. I don't really know what I'm doing heh

Well, actually, it's not that easy.  Usually you'll have to readjust the hinges on the door.  The problem with that is the doors are pained with the hinges on.  If you've lucky the hinge locations will match otherwise you'll need to shift the door a bit to get the door to close properly.

There is one or two bolts on the hinge.  I know YJ's have one for sure.  Not sure aobut TJ's.  Remove the nut then open the door at least 90* then lift up and wiggle.

Full doors are heavy.  You'll want to put the door on the same way you took off the half door.  Then see if it closes OK.  If not then you'll need to loosen the 6 torx bolts on the hinges.  Then the door will flop around.  It's best to have two people.  One to lift the door and another to tighten the hinges once you get the door closed.  With the door closed you'll want to roll down the window if it's not already and push up on the window sill at the top to lift the door a bit.  Then tighten the bolts.  Reattach the mirrors, etc... (BTW: one bolt will be under the mirror.)

Guess I got lucky then.  No adjustments when I went from my half doors to a random set of YJ full doors.

I second that, when I bought some half doors for my Jeep (YJ) I had to undo the hinges and re-adjust them to fit my Jeep.  It wasn't really hard but like Jeffy said the full doors are some heavy guys.  but with a little help from another person you could do it heh

you may have to spray some dw40 on the hinges to get the half doors off.. i know mine where a pain in the @ to get off the first time.
