Well, what's the difference then from GL standards or even 10w30? I mean, even generic branded oil from an auto parts store has standard to meet. So what makes ATF+4 special that it needs to be in the FAQ?
I see your point.
For me, I was hesitant to put anything but a brand name product in my trans. This is because nobody was able to prove to me that the generics were able to meet the same standards as Mopar brand atf +4. It seems to me that the brands listed above are Chrysler approved brands and I would not hesitate to put any of them in my Jeep simply because they are approved.
As far as I know...and correct me if I'm wrong... Chrysler will not void any warranties if an off
brand of motor oil is used. As long as it's the correct weight and meets API and SAE standards.
I've seen on several forums (not this one) where people flat out refused to use any other brand of fluid other than what they got at the dealership or Valvoline. According to them other products with the atf +4 label on them were not the real thing but rather a remix of some other type. The list I provided proves otherwise and stops the propagation of misinformation. If misinformation on trans fluid isn't a problem here then I understand not posting it. However, it would be convenient to have for newbs coming here that may have gotten bad info from other places. Not to mention some of the lesser experienced members of this forum.
