Hey guy's, I was thinking about getting a posi-lok for my jeep because sometimes my front axle stops spinning going up hills, I have to shift from 4wd to 2wd back to 4wd to correct it. I took apart the vaccum disconnect the other day while putting in my locker & checked the lines as well but found nothing wrong. I was thinking about getting the kit for a lifted jeep but I don't know if I can just coil the remaining cable up & it still work or if it has to be trimmed to the right length. If any of yall know or have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks again.

I have a posi lok on my jeep and i have the cable coiled in an area.. but i should note that mine is installed upside down becasue routing the cable the correct way would put it closer to the fan than im comfortable with (could just be me thinking wrong). only thing bad with the way i have it is you have to push the cable in to engage which sucks (but works)... im planing on installing an electric fan so ill stop pussing out and install mine corectly. just be sure not to coil it too tightly and kink it. which there is enough space to eat up the extra cable.

Wouldn't a TJ shaft swap be cheaper? Less headaches for sure.

I had thought about that but wouldn't that make the axle spin all the time? I have an aussie in the front and it's also my daily driver so I don't know how that would effect it.

Currently your driveshaft should be turning all the time because of the locker.  It will be spinning the stub shaft as well.  If you swap the long shaft for a TJ shaft, it will all spin.  Once you do that though, it will be like a TJ or XJ.

I instlled a TJ style axle, and I have not seen any negative effects (apart from the fact that you need to pay mre attention to the front driveline angles and balance the front drive shaft).  I hve an ARB locker up front, though, so I dont know if that matters...

any links to write ups on doing shaft swap...Looking for seal solution with out grinding
