I know most everyone deals with a TJ but my wifes liberty has a problem. The partime light that is supposed to come on when shifted to 4H stays on while in 2H. When shifted to 4H the light goes off. I have found on another site that this has happened to others and the problem seems to be the "TRANSFER CASE POSITION SENSOR ($92.37 part)". I have looked for some information on this and can't find anything. Wanting to know if anyone has any knowledge about this or a site where I can get some useful information. Need to know if this is something simple to replace or repair or if this is a job for the professionals. $$$$

I believe the KJ uses the same NVG231-J that most of the other Jeeps use.  There is a "Four-Wheel Drive Switch" on the transfer case above the shift lever.  I think Auto Parts stores call it a  "4wd Transfer Case Switch" sometimes.  I've heard it's around $25.

You might try checking the connection and maybe removing teh switch, cleaning it then reinstalling it.
