Mine is a 91 with MPI and it had the clock in the dash instead of the 4wd indicator I think they changed that in 92 maybe

Yes, after digging a little the connector is different. Should be able to swap in just the clock though.

when i did my autometer gauges i used the connector off the stock cluster to wire everything in - it's probably doable if you get the pigtail off the donor and wire an adapter between the 2

gas sender is my biggest concern since the tanks are different between tbi and mpfi, same with fuel pressure... anyone know what the output for full and empty is for mpfi sender.. i should be albe to find it for tbi when i get home.

can't find anything about output of tbi fuel level sender... but autozone.com lists the same number for the 1990(tbi) and 1991 (mpfi) oil pressure senders and coolant temp senders (for the gauge) so other than the fuel which is unknown the other 3 gauges should work.. as long as the different pin out problem can be worked around.

here's the MPFI connector from 94/95 FSM

there is no permanent 12v which would be necessary for the clock, but there are empty ones in there and can be easily added in.

EDIT: if you wonder what ECT stands for it means Engine Coolant Temperature (i did too the first time around, although i guessed is water temp since there was the only one missing)
