Took her for a drive today. :) ........... :(
« on: April 11, 2010, 01:01:05 PM »
She works pretty good. But when i got back home, i noticed the port on top of the valve cover was puking a good deal of oil (and oil smoke i guess aswell).

I used to have a commanche with the sixer in it, and it did basically the same thing (just not as bad). It would always ruin the air filter, so i removed the hose from the breather. Now ive dont the same to the jeep.

So this symptom looks familiar to me, but pukes a bit more than i like.
Any thoughts?

Clean your CCV fitting.  It's the small brass fitting that screws into the valve cover at #1 cylinder on the driver side.  If that gets clogged, oil will get forced out the fresh air vent.  See if that fixes it.

you sir (or mam), ARE GOOD! lol That fitting was plum full o junk. Couldnt even get a piece of wire through it. So stuck it on the drill press and drilled it out.  :naughty:

Now in this vid. Ive fixed that fitting. And plugged everything back in. Its now MUCH better.  :doggy:
But a question. I pulled the oil fill cap off, and could feel a decent amount of pressure coming out. Just curious if thats normal. Heres the vid.

Yes, you'll get some crank case pressure from the pistons moving up and down.  That's normal.  It's supposed to force the gases into the intake through the CCV.
