I thought I was really good a searching, but I can't find this Chrysler speed sensor anywhere.  It's the one used in the JB Conversions super short SYE.  Anyone know a part number or link?

Funny thing is Honeywell makes both types of sensors.

I'd like to go to NAPA tomorrow and get a replacement.

Local club member who works at a Dodge dealership ordering that exact part number for me and will have in on Tuesday...I'll get it at cost!!  Join your local 4WD club.

I LOVE when I'm a complete idiot (happens quite often)....after looking at the picture above, I was wondering how the new sensor would fit into the SYE plug when the top of the shafts are different.

At some point after my build was quoted, the shop switched from a JB Conversion SYE to the Teraflex model (probably because of availability...and didn't charge me any more).  I couldn't see the Teraflex stamp on the housing since it was dirty.

Looks like I'll be ordering a replacement sensor from Teraflex instead as I doubt the Rubicon one will fit....oh well...

I rather doubt that tereflex is making their own either.  Probabally just another stock application.

Actually, they purchase the sensor (Cherry part) and assemble it with the Chrysler male connector there.....they don't have any in, so I may just order the Cherry part elsewhere and wire it myself since I already have the other connectors on my current part.

Wired in the new speed sensor and it is still jumping.  Looks like I'll have to pull off the rear drive shaft and tighten the yoke nut as it would seem my only problem should now be that it is not torques to the necessary 180 lbs. to prevent the tone ring from spinning freely.   

On the plus side, I found a great write-up on installing the Dakota Digital unit, so I may tackle that as well while I'm under the Jeep.

i'd suggest to install the DD box in the engine bay or cabin and not under the Jeep. Follow the harness and tap in (EDIT: I meant to say splice into the wire) somewhere close to where you can mount it on the firewall.

My DD speedo calibrator is under the dash, beneath the steering column.  I can simply reach under while driving and tap the speedo up or down.

As for the jumping speedo, could be the yoke nut torque or a short in a wire.

I pulled the drive shaft again today to verify the the nut was torques to at least 180lbs.

I'll inspect the speedo wire since I'll be using that as a guide to route the two new wires to the sensor. Mounting the box via Velcro tape somewhere in the driver foot well so I have easy access as well.

Have everything I need and may attempt that tomorrow morning.

I wired it and I hate wiring.  Not too difficult, had to play with the switches a bit to get it working right.  Let me know if you need to know my switch settings.

The new one doesn't have switches....up and down buttons. Woo hoo.
