DIY AEV Brute and Brute Clone
« on: June 21, 2005, 01:27:51 PM »
It's always interesting to see what companies like AEV come out with next.  We saw the 112" and the 104" Long Wheelbase Wranglers.  The Cherokee pickup was pretty cool also. Then we saw the Brute and the Hemi.  The only problem with AEV was that you had to either buy a Jeep from them or send your Jeep to them.  Well not anymore.  AEV is now selling a DIY kit for the masses.  You get everything to turn your Wrangler into a Brute.  The rear portion of the cab, room, and bed along with a Jig to stretch your frame.

Seems that Road Armor wants a piece of the pie also.  Road Armor is known for their lexan.polycarbonate shelled hard top of years past.  Then with the new owners, they started moving into bumpers.  Not they want to help you convert your TJ or YJ into a SUT.  Their kit is called the Jeep Summit SUT.  The kit comes with a 6' aluminum bed, mid and rear frame extensions, brake, fuel and electrical extensions 3/16" rocker guars and a low profile rear bumper.  Their kit comes with a Lifetime Warranty also.

And a Price Tag of almost $8k!

Side note:  That Silver brute is in a raffle for a volunteer fire station, $100 per ticket, only selling 2000 tickets.  I've seen it in person.  Very nice.  Valued at $62,000.  One of only 2 in the world.

Well, you are getting an aluminum bed, half cab and rear section.  I kind of wish my YJ was 10" longer in the middle.  AEV started off with YJ's early on I think.
