8.8 diff fluid.

hi, just put in a ford 8.8 with LSD. filled it with 80-90W LSD oil. Got a bit of chatter which quietens a bit after the diff warms up but not completely gone. I guess I got the wrong oil in it. What oil should I use?

Does the LSD require friction additive?  I forget if it's an Eaton.

I have no idea if it needs a friction additive. Basically I'm clueless. Just filled it with the same oil as I did for the old D35, which is 80-90W.

What do you guys use in the 8.8?

Just did a search.  You need to add a friction additive to the oil.  Those are clutches in your LSD and if you want them to last you need to add it to the oil.

Alright. Thanks. Why didn't I think of googling it up myself?

Also found out the factory tag specifies 75-140. But some guys seem to be doing fine with a 75-90
