AC Problem?
« on: August 13, 2013, 06:17:26 PM »
The other day I pulled my AC compressor loose so I could get to the no. 1 plug (yes, I'm a woosie and run AC). There was a small spot of oil on top of the bracket - about the size of a quarter. It seems to operate fine and the pressure / level is good, but it has always seemed to have more parasitic drag than I'd expect. Is this something I should be concerned about?

Thanks for any thoughts and advice.

Is the oil coming from the plug on the top of the compressor?  Top being the bottom since it sits upside down.

Honestly, I was in the middle of changing my rocker arms and didn't take the time to see where it was coming from. If it is coming from the plug, is that O.K.?

Well not really but you can tighten it easily.  If it's puddling under the compressor I'd suspect that's when it's leaking from.
