DIY CAR ALARM QUESTION
« on: April 19, 2015, 09:52:54 AM »
I know the best way to keep things safe in a Jeep is to not keep them in there in the first place or lock them in a box. But some interior things it is not possible to do that with.
Is it possible to rig pin switches on the doors and hood and wire them into the horn somehow, like the fuse or relay, so when they are opened the horn sounds?
I am no wiring Whiz.

You might as well just get a simple car alarm then.  It will wire into your door switches and also kill the starter if you wire it for that.    Otherwise you could just put a kill switch on the starter and or the fuel pump.  It won't stop anyone from stealing what's inside but it will help stop someone from stealing the jeep.  I'd invest in a lockbox for stuff you want to keep in the jeep.  At minimum a instatrunk.
