Topic: Fuel cell question

Does anyone know if there are 20 gallon cells that will fit behind the rear seat of a TJ? And does anyone know if there are models which can be set up to work with stock gas gauge?
Before you say "google it", im in
Diego-f*#*ing-Garcia      and Internet is suuuuuuuper slow, so website loading takes FOREVER.
 I'm thinking of running a cell as long as I can be sure the fumes remain sealed (got the little dude to worry about).

I don't think anyone's going to complain if you ask anything here.  It's pretty quiet otherwise.  What you want is a RCI fuel cell.  That's the one everyone tends to use.  The only downside is that it's 15 gallons.

The gas gauge won't work with it though.  It's 0-90 and the Jeep requires a 90-0 ohms sender.  Gen-Right now makes a ring that allows you to use yoru existing fuel pump sender with some cutting.  I would go this route so you're not having to fabricate and mount a bunch of other parts all over the place inside the Jeep.  Not to mention having to figure out the pickup.

We used the 15 falling RCI tank in our proto jeeps behind the seats. They worked well for use but we only use it offroad so we don't run into issues with fuel capacity. Only downside is we haven't made a filler neck for them yet so it is easy to overfill it with a 5 falling gas can. I would suggest making some kind of filler neck so if you accidently over fill it the I side of your jeep doesn't smell like gas

i've seen the RCI ones. Couple guys in the club run it. I had heard a while back that you can somehow rig it to have the gauge work. If i'm a stickler for 20gallons, are there other companies i can be looking at?

Like, I said, you can use your existing sender if you want your gauge to work.  Otherwise, no the stock one they give will not work with the stock gauge.

If you want a bigger tank then look at some of the other RCI's.  They are universal tanks so you jsut have to look for a bigger one.  Chances are slim that you'll find one that fits behind the rear seat and is over 15 gallons though.  Although, you could go taller then cut a hole in the floor...
