Oil Pressure spike

As I was driving this morning, I look over and the oil pressure gauge was almost spiked at 75psi. I  usually run around 60-65psi cold, which concerned me.  Any possible reasons for this to happen, or did the sending unit maybe just have a hiccup? It came right down when I pulled over and let the engine idle.
Also, the Jeep is getting ready for an oil change, so the pressure usually goes up a little bit for some reason. Anyone else have this happen? The engine has 152,000 miles on it.

Does it continue to spike when off idle?

Nope, it only did it the one time and I let it idle back down. On the highway it was at 65, almost touching 70. I'm going to do an oil change tonorrow, that usually helps when the pressure starts running a little high.

Typically when the gauge spikes out of the norm, it's usually because of a bad sender.

I'll be picking up a new sende, then. Any input on quality brands? I know someone with a TJ replaced the sensors on his 4.0 and he had to get them from the dealer because the parts store ones were junk. Not sure if they were just a bad batch or what.

Also, does anyone know the thread pitch on the senders? This way I know which adapters I have to get for my diesel project. I'll put up a build thread as I get a little further into it.

I'd go ahead and change the oil and see if it comes back.  Then if it does get a new sender.  I've only run Mopar senders but only had to replace the sender once.  You can take the brass fitting off the block and check the bolt size.

Changed the oil today. Drove it around and the oil pressure was in the normal range. I threw in Shell 10W-30 instead of my usual Castrol GTX and I think the motor likes it a bit more. It felt a little smoother and the lifter tap wasn't as loud when rolling at idle, and I couldn't hear it at all when sitting at a traffic light. Not sure if it's just me imagining it or what. I'll be watching the gauge closely to see if it acts up again.
