I wish to put tires 31/10.5 15 on my tj 1997.

Which is the offset of my origin rims?

Must I change my rims, to avoid frictions and to cross the axles more easily, in off road?

I waits a 3" full traction kit. I research efficacity, but a minimal width. Which is the best compromise?

Thank you,                    Pascal.

The backspacing is 5.5".  You can put a 31/10.5R15 on there with minor rubbing at full lock and compression.

I have 31x10.5" BFG A/T's on factory wheels in my TJ and have some serious rubbing at full lock.  I blame it mostly on the fact that I'm running 15x8" instead of the regular 15x7".  I also did not want to go too wide, so that's why I stuck with factory rims, but from the looks of it I'm going to need to go back to the 15x7's as soon as I get new tires.  In short, I think you'll be fine with the 15x7" factory wheels, you'll just need to adjust your steering stops a little and the downside is that you're turning radius decreases slightly.

Stock wheels for a 2.5L are 15x6" with 15x7" as an option.

Thank you for your useful informations.

I initially will install the lift kit of 3". Then I would carry out a test with the spare wheel (rim of origin 15x7 already equipped with a tire brigestone DUELER MT673 31/10.5).

Thank you. (France (Cognac))
