jcguin's got a Automatic.  Basically, he does not have 5th gear.  So imagine driving around in 4th all the time.  With 31's and 4.56's, he's be way too low.

BTW: the 4.0L will pass CA Dyno Emission Tests fine.  Even passes the visual.

ok i havent read the whole thread but the starting thing could be the fuel presure regulator... we have the same problem on our 97 grand cherokee we just havent got around to geting a new one.. so if it wasnt already seggested or you havent checked it yet it would be worth looking into.
