Unlimited Wrangler question.
« on: May 25, 2006, 12:56:56 PM »
Now I know this a 4 cyl. site, however I have found the best information as far the right information on this site.  So please bear with me. The wife and I are looking at getting her an Unlimited. It's stock right now but would soon change, I know I would need to use a long arm kit for suspension and such, the question is about the need for an SYE?  Is this an issue I'll need to worry about with the lift?  or is the Unlimited long enough that the rear drive angles are not severe enough to require one?

thanks for the help

Since the Unlimited is longer so is the driveshaft.  Driveshaft angles should be alright when lifting.

Of course this is dependent on the amount of lift...   Since your planning on getting the LJ for the wife, I have to assume a 5.5" Rubicon long arm kit is out of the question...  But keep in mind, with that type of extreme height a SYE would be needed.  But with any other lift, it's probably not necessary.
