I am a new member to this site and I have to say that it is just what I have been looking for! I am about to by new tires and I would like some feedback. Is any one running LTB's? I currently run 33x10.5's BFG AT's but would like to run SS LTB 34x10.5's. I have plenty of room with the 4" suspension and 1" body lifts. Will be installing 4.88 gears at the same time. Any one have any feedback on the SS LTB's.
Exactly what I'm running with tires, body lift, gears and I'm running a combo of parts for suspension. LTBs are not really designed for steady road trips. They are a rough tire for the street. Bias ply is strong as well as the thick sidewalls. I'm running the 34's on 15x7 rims, locked front and rear. My rear tires surely show the locked rear axle, so keep them rotated. Air pressure plays quite a bit in the ride also. I'm running 23 on the street. On the trails, depending on how hard the trail surface is, I've been down to 11 or so. I want to go lower in air pressure, but I'm still in the testing mode. If I was to do it again, I'd look at some 16" rim and get some tall/skinny metric muds. I drive my TJ to/from the trails and use it around town here/there. It's not a DD.
