Weapon Carriers: Dodge
« on: August 29, 2006, 12:57:29 PM »
I posted this on another forums where they were trying to ID a WC.

The Dodge's had several different model years.  The earliest are the T202 — 1/2 ton also known as the VC's. VC-1-6, I think.  Then there were the T203's which took up the VC-400 series of numbers.  Not until the T211 did the name change to WC.  A WC-25 would make it a T115, I think.  The command cars are supposed to be the rarer ones I believe.  Most were sent overseas and few came back.  All of them sure are nice though.

The pickup version is the most basic I think:

The Carry All:

The Ambulance:

Is the date there listed as 03/1940??  Photo #106 H.Q.D.??

Those look wonderfully vintage...  Makes me think of the ol' 4077...   Back in the day I was in Korea (with Hawkeye, Klinger and Radar ;) )

Most of the picts are early VC's 1940-41.  The Carry-All would be really slick.

Some of those Carry-All's are still around...  Kinda...

Versions of the Chevy and Dodge still drive even to this day...  I'm sure not the HD axles that these had, but that body is certainly familiar to me.

The VC's were 1/2 Ton.  Only later with the WC's did they mix in some 3/4 Ton.  The equilivant today would be a CUCV.
