I have read the other topics about injectors.

I rebuilt a 2.5 because I never have before and am always looking to improve. 60 over, deck the block, valves re done. rv II cam, complete motor done, Intake was worked on 2, 4.0 tb, spacer, intake w/filter, free flow cat,and flow master exhaust.

I am ordering some injectors for mine and gonna try it.

I know this is a 4 banger forum. My son has a 92 wrangler but it is a 4.0. Does anyone know how the injectors work in a 4.o w/ 2.5 exhaust, banks header, TB spacer and intake w/ filter?

Thanks in advance!

The 4.0L had more pressure then the 2.5L injectors but not as much as the Ford's.  It may or may not make a difference though.  The 2.5L seems to have more leaway.  Although for under $20, it wouldn't hurt to try.

I did a little poking so I could get some solid numbers.  I  found this;

Bosch 22.5#
Jeep 1996-98
Jeep 1996-02 2.5L
Brand New Set
Bosch D9B
Replaces 53030778

DENSO XL5E-A2A 19lb-Pintle
Engine Fitments:
Jeep 1993-95 5.2 MPI V-8
Jeep 1987-95 4.0 MPI I-6
Jeep 1991-95 2.5 MPI I-4

I haven't looked in a FSM to see if there is a pressure for the earlier injectors though.  BUT if these are correct then there is no pressure difference between the Denso and the Ford.  So any improvements can be atributed the spray pattern.  Although the Ford injectors might be flow matched which would increase performance.

I need to keep track of all this info...

That information would dispute the guys who say that the ford injectors made them run rich then, right? Their problems must stem from other issues, not a problem with the injectors :?

The Jeeps shoudln't run rich normally.  If anything they run lean.  This is usually done so they get better emissions.

Here's an update.   The first place I went to had only the seals so I bought one set.  Well, the set only comes with 4 seals.  You need two seals, one on each end.  That's all they had.  So I went to another place.  I bought the seal kit.  This has the plastic spacer, the cap and both seals.  One kit rebuilds one injector.   So for that $16 investment in injectors, I spent another $12-16 on them, LOL!  Still new injectors cost around $150 for 4.

I thought about this some more and the injectors should feed more fuel into the engine even thought they are at the same pressure.  This should be do to the Ford injectors having 4 ports rather then one.  Although, you'd be able to control the volume by changing the port size.  I haven't taken the stock injectors out so I can't compare them.

Sounds logical :smokes:   I have a set as well, just haven't had a free afternoon to clean them up and get a seal kit for them. They look very well used, so I want to give them as good a flushing as possible before they touch my jeep
