Wheel backspacing and blot pattern measurement?

Can anyone tell me the stock backspacing on an 02 tj. I'm getting rims for the wife for Christmas and want to stay as close to stock as possible. Oh and I need the stock bolt pattern measurement too. Thanks guys. :wink:
02 2.5.L automatic: 4.0L t.b., 4.0l air intake, K&N filter, Scream'n Demon coil, 8.5mm MSD Super Conductor plug wires, Stage 1 Jet Chip, 29" BFG all terrain KO's. Taurus E-fan, Hummer front bumper, Skyjacker high capacity trans pan, 48" hi-lift, Rubi susp w. 3/4" BB.

More then likely they are 5" BS and 5 on 4.5" pattern.  Although depending on the wheels you buy, if you go wider, you'll have to increase the BS to compensate.  That's if you want the tire to be centered where the original was.  Problem is you start running into rubbing problems if you try to tuck a wider/taller tire.

Thanks Jeffy. I'm not going wider. I'm sticking with 8". As for tire diameter, I'm going with 30's. The last rim and tire package I picked ran out of supply before I got to have them mounted so I'm putting a set together myself.

8" tire??  You could go to 10.5's and not have a problem (4 inch bs)

I think he means wheel width?  Stock wheel width is either 6" or 7" usually depending on the wheel.

30" would probably give you a 9.5" wide tire.  These should fit the stock wheels though.  Even 31x10.5R15's on the 15x6's will work. They do rub a little though.  I recommend a wheel with 4.75"-4.5" BS so it gives you the option to go a bit wider.  12.5's can be fitted.  I'm running 3.75" which is the standard BS everyone recommends if they don't know what they're talking about.  I've see way too many people running 3.75" with 30's and they look awful.   The tires clear everything but stick past the stock flares which looks really bad.  3.75" BS should be used for people going over 33" although I'd really like some wheels with more BS.

Another good way to check for the spacing is to measure the spare tire to rear tailgate. The spare should be up against the rubber snubbers on the tailgate. The mounting location is on the hanger. Measure this distance. Then with new tires, you can really guestimate the proper bs on the new wheels needed to place the spare on the rear. If your new rims are too 'shallow' (not deep enough), then the spare tire won't be resting on the rubber snubbers.
