You guys buying this part about the 2.5L running rich?  And, of course, JP concludes the article by dissing any efforts to work on the 2.5L other than turbo or supercharging

I wonder if the columnist works for Avenger superchargers and N.O.S. Somebody here bought a supercharger, I wonder how it worked out BTW.

Well JP are out there to sell magazines.  They aren't there to make friends.  2.5L's don't sell magazines.  They are heavily V8 biased.  Honestly, for those who want to know more about John Cappa, should check out this thread.  It's basically Cappa against Ian from Extreme4x4 TV.   :baby:

the 2.5L does run rich under WOT conditions... but most stock cars do, i'm sure the 4.0 does also. Under cruise conditions it shoots for 14.7:1. I have a wideband on my jeep so i'm well aware of whether it does or doesn't run rich (I dont just speculate like most hehe), and it acts like most vehicles made during these times, conservative WOT and cruise tunes.

Yeah, but who the heck runs a V8 in a Wrangler?  What, like maybe 5000 owners, tops, in the states?  Even if the 2.5 doesn't sell magazines (which I doubt, given that I'd buy Jp Magazine), Jp has no excuse for alienating 2.5 owners - its bad business.

JP isn't limited to Wranglers.  There are many CJ's out there.  Not to mention there are a lot of Jeep buggies out there too.  For the longest time Cappa was running his J10.  He sold it off last year I think.  It was even on E-bay.  If you want to sell a magazine or book, you sell it to the largest group of readers.  JP likes to focus on the bigger engines.  I've talked to a contributor and Jeep author and even though he liked the smaller engines, he knows he can't limit himself to a smaller audience.  He even thought of having a build-up but the idea was shot down by the head editor.

Although I know that Rick Pewe seems to never let that stop a good story.  When he was running JP, they had a few 2.5L's in there.  If you read 4WD & Sport Utility, they have amny 4 cylinder trucks.  Mostly Toyota's and Jeep's.  Over the years they have done many 2.5L build-ups.

So what am I saying...I don't read JP.
