Well, there are no hubs to lock on a TJ. When you say it's grinding, do you mean when you shift it into 4Lo or when it's actually moving in 4wd? If it's when you shift, 4Lo is not synchronized and you have to be doing under 5mph to get it to shift. Better yet, stop, shift then go. Since the front axle is always locked, I don't think it's an issue with it. If anything it would be the transfer case. Parts would have to be broken if it's grinding while driving. Although, 4wd probably wouldn't work either.
