TJ vs. XJ Dana 44 axle shafts...
« on: April 01, 2007, 12:11:32 PM »
OK so i know that the shafts are the same and will work for either or....but if i was to buy a tj axle shaft kit for my 89 xj dana 44 (going under my yj) would the axle bearings and seals be the same as well? the tj dana 44 uses dana 35 axle tubes right? which would mean the axle tubes are narrower than my xj dana 44. does anyone know if the bearings and axle seals are the same?

thanks in advance
robert

The shafts are exactly the same,  The bearing, seals, and retainer plates are not the same though.  I currently run TJ/XJ Superior shafts with my XJ D44.
