I'm looking to get a lil more lift, maybe an inch or so, There are a few different ways to go about it.
Right now I'm running ACoS set at 2.25" I'm thinking about tossing in some rubi springs and calling it a day. Then I got to thinking, What is the difference from 2" lift springs and a 2" spacer lift, Do you get more axle travle with longer springs instead of spacers, better ride, any other reasons to go bigger springs over spacers? Its been bugging me for a wile now and can't seem to find any wright ups on it.

It's possible to get a little more compression out of a 2" spring that you would with a 2" spacer/stock spring.  That's about it.

I wouldn't bother with Rubi springs, go with a set of 2.5" coils so you get a good range of adjustibility.  They come available used all the time, especially over on www.jeepsunlimited.com/forums .

But compression would not matter because of tire size would it? If your tire is just rubbing the fender, 2" springs would still stop in the same spot right?
This is where I'm confused.

I'd go with whatever is cheaper.  There is no difference between new springs and spacers.  Well that's not entirely true since the lift springs might not have any measurable additional height but will use a higher spring rate.  So the ride will change slightly.  The advantage of the spacers is that they don't change the springs any. 

I'd go with spacers if you're planning on going taller and adding more stuff, like winches, bumpers and such.  Coils will sag when you add more weight so you regain lost lift, spacers could be reused when time arises.  The ACOS are really nice since they allow you to adjust each corner independently.  This helps a lot since your rear passenger side spring will sag more then the others.

The other option is to but some really cheap 'takeoff' springs from a Grand or Rubi.  if it's a really smoking deal then jump on them.

Right now I am running ACoS, I want another inch, but don't want to have a 3.5" spacer lift, because that's there max lift and I would not be able to adjust any thing. I was thinking about putting the springs in with my ACoS. The more I think about it the more I want to go that route anyways. Thanks jeffy.

That was kind of what I was looking for, I didn't know the advantage of each one.

That was kind of what I was looking for, I didn't know the advantage of each one.

I didn't catch the part where you said you already had ACOS.  Go with springs and adjust the ACOS down to suit your needs.

Witch springs tho jeffy? Rubi, nice and cheep and keep my ACoS at 2.25 or 2" lift springs and keep my ACoS flat? I think Cheaper then I can get a belly up SYE and drive shaft and be set off road. then I can start working on a 44 with ARB in it.

I would think the Rubi springs would be cheaper then lift springs.  Might even run smoother since they are designed for lift and ride for a Factory vehicle.
