4" lift and it's handling

I have a 2 1/2 bb and 33 now and have a 2" body lift waiting to be installed.  I like the way the jeep corners now but I'm afraid of how another 2" might make it handle.

My brother and I have a 4-inch superlift on ours and i think it handles pretty good my only complaint is that it dose have a stiffer ride and tends to drift a little bit at higher speeds if you dont pay attention. But over all its pretty good. :thumb:

Not speaking from experience here, but a 4" lift and 2"+2" lift are two completely different things.  You probably will experience more body roll with the 2+2 lift, but probably not enough be THAT scary.

For all the work and money you are spending on the BB and BL I would think you may just want to get a 3 or 4" lift and be done with it. :stick:

I've already had the BB installed for a while now and just looking for extra 2 BL for a more aggressive look. Maybe I should dump the BL and get another 1" coil spacer to add to the 2 1/4. I got the longer shock when I got the BB so that shouldn't be a issue.
at 3 1/4 BB I'm sure I will need a T-cass drop so I don't have vibes.

It's just that every body lift I've ever seen over 1" looks goofy...too much frame and crap showing.  I was going to do a 1" BL on mine and gave it away to charity instead....just going with flat fendering and a nice LA lift for clearance. :thumb:

The body lift is what a $100 and takes hour or two too install?  Put it on if you like it leave if not sell it on ebay and get a lift kit.  A 3.5" BB sounds unlikely to be as safe as a 2"+2".  If you haven't bought a BL I'd go with a 1" you will be suprised at how much that helps.

I have a 2" lift with a 1.25 body lift, there isn't that much roll, I didn't even feel a difference. I don't even use my sway bar in the summer time. I think that is enough lift on the body. Click on my sig below for pics of my jeep. I have seen guys have 2" body lifts and it looks funny... its not as tough or aggressive, it looks awkward.

This Jeep below is in my club, he is running a 2" body lift only and has 33"s on it, he has since changed it.
He is much happier with a 4" lift and no body lift.


There is another guy in my club that had a 3" BL and he had a lot of problems with it....
Just some food for thought.

You won't notice a difference.

I have rustys offraod 5.5 inch advanced kit. I netted past 6. the kit came with jks quicker disdcos and currently my rear sway bar is off. and my rig handles just like stock...except up hills. anyway.. no death wobble no wandering steering nothing. I put in an 8.8 also. my front is aligned perfect said the shop and the rear is off 1 degree. cant really beat that.

I put my 2" BL on a few years back and I can honestly say that I would never do it again.  If I had it all to do over again I would take a little more time and money and buy a suspension kit that gave me the clearance I wanted. I think just about everyone I know that has more than a 1" BL has wished that it wasn't there after a few years.  In my opinion I wouldn't go with more than a 1", and honestly, I wouldn't bother putting that on unless I had a slight clearance issue with something.  In a few months after you put your BL on with that 2" budget boost you'll get used to it, then you'll want to go bigger. At least I did. Try to save your money and do it right the first time. The way I see it is a BL is just a cheap way to gain clearance. When you buy a 4"suspension kit it is designed to make your Jeep perform 4" higher. By getting coil spacers and shocks and throwing a BL on your Jeep it will not perform hardly any better that it did when it was stock, it just has bigger tires. Also, you said something about stacking a 1" coil spacer on top of a 2" spacer. Just so you know that is one of the worst ideas I've ever heard. Please don't do that.  If you have any questions for me feel free to ask. I've already gone down that road and I now regret wasting my money. I don't want you to do the same.
