Topic: Stuck Body bolt

Alright I don't have anymore idea's I have one last body bolt that is really stuck. I've cracked a number of sockets on it and I went and got an impact socket and it just slips off. So I stopped in fear of just rounding it off. I may give it one more try and hit it with the impact.  I've been hitting it with PB blaster for weeks meow and nothing. Its the only thing stopping me (right meow) from doing my body lift. Any ideas how to get it out? I don't have a lot of fancy tools..

A air-chisel or a sawsall might be able to cut the head off.  Have you tried heat?  Sometimes a propane torch on a tough bolt can get it to expand just enoegh to get it off.

Ya, I have friends that have all that, so I may head over there if all else fails.  I'm a poor college student, so its nice to have friends that have those tools.

I'd try using some heat but you don't want to melt the bushings.  If it's really stuck then hitting it with the impact could lead to a broken mount or sheared bolt.  I suspect the bolt has been eaten away some since it must have some rust.

Which mount is it?  If you can get to the nut and spray it.  Spraying from underneath won't get up to the nut.  Some of the nuts are sandwiched so you can't get to them though.

Its the one up front on the passenger's side, not the one under the grill, but the one right behind the front tire.  If there is a way to get to the nut that would be awsome.

If you are not able to loosen a body bolt on the main body floor, and it doesn't rotate, be a little happy. 

Those floor body bolts have a nut welded to a flat plate. The plate resides in a cavity just big enough for it to be there. The plate just floats but with the compression of the bolt, the plate provides a greater surface area of the floor. About the only way to get it to loosen is to drill an access hole from above, and then try the rust lubricant. If the hole is big enough, you may be able to apply heat. Do note, most cavities of the floor are a structural support plate themselves to the floor. Drilling holes from above shouldn't deteriote this support. The support is also open underside so it will have road debri (sand, salt, mud) in it.

Yeah but boring. I want to know if there was any bloodshed resulting in stitches, body slings or a cast. What about fire? Was there fire? Lost fingers or appendages?

Well I ended up takeing it to my buddy's dads shop and got to use their fancy tools.
Pulled it in

got it up on the lift

and made some sparks

Does that help any lol

Sparks are good. Gratuitous use of an oxy-acetylene (I used mine to take off the milk jugs, lol.) would have been better but sparks will do.
