Transmission?
« on: February 28, 2008, 07:28:48 AM »
I have been battling a transmission leak lately, its an auto. I finally got the seal at the pan stopped but am still getting a small leak from the driver side of the transmission above the pan. It looks like that is where the lines run to the radiator and all the linkage is. Its pretty cramped there and am having a hard time figuring out what is leaking. Any suggestions on what is most likely to cause a leak in that spot? Thanks, Chris.

Could also be the seal around the shifter rod.

Thats what I'm leaning towards, can I repace it without pulling the pan?  Also is there supposed to be a bolt on top of the assembly?

Shouldn't need to pull the pan.  It appears that the Throttle position cable arm has a clamp on it, no nut on top

I am not seeing the gasket where I think its leaking.  Is that and auto diagram, because it looks different, I think.

That's an auto.  The seal is right around the shaft that is labeled manual lever shaft
