Will thiese tires look stupid on my TJ
« on: April 05, 2008, 08:45:56 AM »
Hey fella's, got a ? about a set of P275/60/15's i bought for a project pickup truck last year. The project went south, and had to part it out, but still have the tires, which are still new. They are the same in height (28") as the P225/75/15 Wrangler GS/A's that are on my jeep now, but are as wide as a set of 31's which are 11". They are still brand new, and i dont know what to do with them, so i thought of maybe slapping them on my jeep. The 7x15 ECCO wheels that are on my jeep are just a 1/2" to narrow for the tires, so i'd have to invest in some 8x10 jeep wheels so they wont stick out, since i have the smaller SE fender flares. Or should i kill that idea because they'll look stupid  :yikes:

BFG played around with tires like that.  They came out with 31x12.5R15's that looked really wide.  Basically looked like a roller skate. You could use them BUT, I think 31x10.5R15's are more practical.  If it's going to force you to buy new wheels, I'd axe it.

Thanks for the responce Jeffy, i guess i figured i'd try to put them to some good use. I kinda wanted to wait to regear before i went with a taller tire, because even with the Wrangler GS/A which are 28" tall with the 4.11's, the jeep gets thursty above 65 mph. If i stuck 31's on my stock ECCO's which i know would look much better, but i just know with the 4.11's, ill drop atleast 4 mpg. I guess it was just a thought  :puzzled:
