I know of a guy who did it, and then took a leaf out of the suspension pack to improve flexing. Jeep was WAAAAY up there (he had a very hard time getting into the Jeep, so he decided to take out a leaf; he says he likes it that way, but I am not too sure about how good it really is).
I would defenetely not recommend going that route, though. I would stick with stock or very small lift springs to keep the springs as flat as possible and allow for greater flexing.
