I have to say the new Hood logo doesn't look as cool as the old one.  Not to mention it's an option and not standard.  If anything, make it standard and a Dealer installable item.

The original looked better and was easy to spot.

The eagle on the CJs look to 80s, and I guess I can understand why!  I like the new decal better too, but think it should be standard, it's pretty much the thing that sets it apart.

Well, each of the "Golden Eagle" stickers add 5HP, so that's 10HP total for those (one on each side of the hood).  The optional eagle on the top of the hood is good for at least 30 extra HP, that's why it's optional.

They come with the 4.0L and the rear Dana 44, which isn't nothing.

During the Kaiser & AMC era most Jeeps had catchy names and there was a theme.  Each name would designate it's packaging.  Golden Eagle's not only had the middle of the road packaging but the ones with hardtops had gold-tinted glass.

In one sense it's just all marketing but in another, about bringing back feeling from a era long gone.  The Golden Eagle was showcases on the Dukes of Hazard with Catherine Bach.  Not every remembers she used to drive a lime green challenger before she got the CJ-5/7.

Here are few of the names I can remember.

Larado
Golden Eagle
Renegade
Levi Edition
Jamboree
Scrambler
Pioneer
Wagoneer
Gladiator
Cherokee
Cherokee Chief
Honcho
Wrangler

The Liberty and Commander and Unlimited show a different direction in their naming.
