Jeep throwing a code 65
« on: May 14, 2008, 09:43:27 PM »
OK after looking in the FSM it states a code 65 is Power steering switch failure - Power steering high pressure seen at high speeds.  Now I get this all the time and need to know how to fix it.  Any Ideas???

Thanks

Tony

First make sure the switch isn't broken off like mine is ;)  If the code is true it means that the bypass valve in the pump isn't opening up.  The way to fix it is to replace the pump.

May be a stupid question but where is the switch located?

If you look at the pressure line on the PS pump, there is a big black connector with a couple wires coming out of it.
