Topic: Sway bar disco's

Since the lift is done I'm running a sway bar again. I was considering making a set of disconnects but I want to see what's out there. I know the JKS quicker set is great but is $$$$. I was also looking at the teraflex, I like that the link is completely removed but I've heard that they're noisy. Anyone run a different type that they want to give an opinion about?

well...pricey...but I LOVE my Off Road Only sway-loc.  Easy to engage/disengage.  Is one of my favorite things I've done to my rig and has performed flawlessly.

I use cheap RE's since they make them short enough to use on a SOA.  The center sections are about 4".  That keeps the swaybar in the almost in the stock location with stock leafs.

Farly easy to find actually.  Mine don't rattle.  There is a thump but that's because I'm using the supplied bolt rather then the tapered stud that should have been reused.

x2 on the RE discos. I'm using the ones that came in my 2.5" kit, and I've never heard a rattle... that is, I've never heard a rattle that I can blame solely on the discos

Just make your own , spending over a hundred bucks of hard earned money on something that's easily made your self is kinda silly. Almost all the aftermarket disconnects suffer from the same problem they tend to be a pain to hook back up. Other than that they all do the same thing I use the extended non disconnect links that came with the RE standard lift kit. the bottom of the link mounts on a 1/2 bolt with the head cut of and a hole drilled in it for a hair pin to hold the link in place. The links actually stay in place without the hair pins doesn't rattle is simple and works well. I have a hook on one side to pull the sway bar and links one one side flip the sway bar up wrap a bungy cord around it and I am good to gocost was about 2 bucks for 2 bolts and some hair pins

I hear ya', but I've got too much on my plate right now and it needs to get done. I'm in the middle of making my rear bumper/tire swing and the pass seat broke through the sheet metal so I'm doing tub repair work at the same time. I'm running out of time before my next run so I'm copping out and buying a set.

Sounds like the RE set is the popular choice, Northridge has them for less than $70 so that's the route I'll go.

the swingout tire carrier is fairly easy to make I used the spindle setup from this guy liked theidea of the spindle sitting in a sleeve. It was the most expensive part of the whole deal. like 65 bucks the steel was about 30 and so was de staco latch clamp. Has been on the back of my Jeep for a year still no rattles of any kind
