Winch ?
« on: October 27, 2008, 09:33:30 PM »
I'm planning on putting the Full Traction 3" lift on my 97TJ and want to add a warn M8000 winch also along with a kargo master safari rack will the winch weigh down the front end? Should I add the 3/4 spacers up front when i do the lift to balance it out or do you guys think the rack will balance it out?

Any help would be great if anyone has any idea about this!

On a TJ, you'll usually see some drop in height because of the 80#'s added to the front.  Spacers are probably a good idea.

I would wait on adding the spacer. 3/4" is really not that critical and from some kind of distance, the stance is not noticeable.

Wait till you add what you are, then drive it for couple weeks. Then step back and look at the stance. Just make sure the Jeep is parked on flat ground.
What are you going to do when you add bumpers?

3/4" generally will cover bumpers AND winches.  The best situation would be to go with ACOS but those are $$.

Most TJ's I've seen, especially 4bangers, are a little low in the front WITHOUT a winch.  I'd plan on 3/4" or 1" spacers in the front, either now or after the winch.

I usually add a stock coil isolator to the front of 2.5L TJ's when I install a budget boost, works great for a level ride.
