This is the the first attempt at posting PICS.

There are a number of shots of motor mounts, shifters,linkage,Klune mounting plate,speedo adapters.

A little info

The Klune is the 4:1
The D20 is out of a 71 Bronco 2.46:1
Adapter to mate the two is from AA
Twin sticks is from Wild Horses
The motor and tranny was moved forward 4 inches.
Dakota Digital products to get the speedo working
All the labor and custom crossmember was done at FourXdoctor in Burbank Ca.

It really doesn't look like the engine was moved much at all.  Have any picts of the engine in relation to the grill?  I've seen picts of the Tri-County Gear YJ and the floor shifter is placed way under the dash.  The shifter needed a 90* bend to bring it back then another to send it up.  Yours looks like it's sticking out of the stock hole in the floor.

The black shifter cover on the tranny hump was fabbed up when they installed everything.
I added about 2 inches to the top of the tranny shifter to make the reach a little easier. I used a coupler nut.

AH, now I see it.  The original pict from the back seat was deceiving.

I'm wondering if it's really worth it to move the engine forward though.  Seems like a lot of work for 4".  Add on top of that the new SS SYE and it brings it to 1-2" over a HD SYE 231.  I would guess that the front shaft could be swapped out for a XJ shaft.  The rear basically stay the same.

I wonder if it would be possible to add a second stock to the stock Tcase and run that to the Klune...  I wish the boat throttle looked better instead of being a afterthough.

It is alot of work and expense since I paid to have it all done.
If I left it alone I would have around a 16 inch rear shaft, which is close to what I had before. So it would have been very doable.

With the SS SYE I would not move the motor. Sounds like everything should fit nicely. Not sure on the DS's. Would need to measure when everything is installed.

The boat shifter is not the best looking shifter for sure. I really wanted the stick shift. But since I was paying to have the work done I wanted it done the quickest to save some money. It works real well. Having it sorta between the seats is easy to reach.

The stock driveshaft is 14 and change which hasn't been a problem for me.  I'm still running the stock shaft with the rear jacked up.  I've got the skidplate lowered but I suspect I could raise it but I got lazy and winters setting in.  All I got done was fabricating some brackets and rebuilding a wire harness.  Only problem, the lights bounce on the brackets.  So I've got to make them out of some steel. But that's anotehr project, another day. :roll:

I wouldn't be able ot put the shifter where you have it.  I've got a large console in the middle.  So the shifter will need to be located with the other shifters.  It does look tacky though.  I wonder if I could make a propper shifter though.

I cut my POS Steel horse console to make room for the shifter. My CB is on the front of the console. My friend has his shifter on the driver side of the tranny hump. I don't like it there, but he doesn't seem to be bothered by it.

I am not sure how the stick shifter works. I don't know if they can mount it anywhere on the Klune. The cable shifter can be mounted in 3 places.
I was worried that it would come up thru the floor at an angle since they clocked the D20 as much as they can. Or it would take a number of trys re-clocking the Klune to get the shifter to look right. So I went the easy route.
I don't know where the shifter would come thru the floor on yours. I have not seen any PICS of it in a YJ or TJ. I am guessing it would be close to where my shifter is since you would not move the motor forward. Don't know if a AA cable shifter could be made to work or not. It looks a ton better for sure.

Not the shifter from Klune but a custom shifter.  From the looks of it the only thing that needs to move is the shift rail that sticks out of the klune.  If that's the case then you could set up the shifter with a linkage to the Klune.  Maybe do something like what Swink has. http://www.4bangerjp.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=489

If I moved the engine forward, I'd be able to use the Klune shifter I think.  It's awefully small though.  The Klune shifter looks like it's stuck to the top of the box.  It would have to be clocked over to 11 o'clock.  If I didn't move the engine the shifter would be under my console since the T-case shifter is mounted along side the Transmission.  I'll have to see if I can dig up some measurements.
