Glad to hear you repaired it! Really weird problem, how did you noticed it was the oil in the alternator?

Well, to be hoest, it was not me; I ended up looking for help (I have a General Mechanic who does some side business with me and charges reasonable, so I got him to take a look at the Jeep and he figured it out).

Just in case this happens to anyone else, it seems the cause of the problem is found; aparently, some oil fell into the distributor, and pooled around the bottom, and this shorted out taking the accell coil with it.  I already corrected this and put a stock coil until my new Screaming Demon arrives from PD...  Jeep seems to be runing good now (I will report if this changes).

How did the oil fall into the distributor?

How did the oil fall into the distributor?

There was a valve cover leak that I did not take care of in time...

By the way, there was some sporadic sputtering on the drive home, but it turned out that the CEL (which I thought was still on from the previous MAP thing I mentioned) was telling me that the TPS was disconnected.  I reconected the TPS, and it did not sputter at all on the drive to work today.  Let's see how my lunch commute goes, but so far so good!
