Which MT tire and size
« on: December 29, 2005, 10:52:00 PM »
I am currently looking at two tires to put on my 99 tj.  Tire 1 is the firestone distination m/t 31X10.5R15 at $131 or Kumho Road Venture MT 834 which comes in 31X10.5 or 32X11.5 at$98 and $109.  Also does anyone know how the maxxis buckshot tire is.   I have a 2" daystar lift and 2.5 4banger.  Would like your input.   Thanks

I have some friends with the Firestones and they love them.  I have another with the Kumhos and they are good tires for the price but don't seem to perform as well as other mt's.  I have TrXus Mt's and they have been great and I paid $106 (wish I would have paid more and bought them localy but that is another thread).  I think the TrXus MT's are the best performing MT on and off road but they don't last as long as some of the others

low output 2.5

Without knowing what you're going to use them fore, it's difficult to give a recommendation.

The tirerack's comparison suggests that the destination is rated the best in the M/T class with the kumho rated 3rd I believe, but the price difference of approx. $13 per tire, its hard to justify an extra $65 for 5 tires if there is no major advantage over the kumho.  I primarily use my TJ as my daily driver but occasionaly take it off road when possible.   Does anyone have any comment about the maxxis buckshot, I know a person that has a truck that races in CORR and uses maxxis and may be able to get some tires at hopefully a discount.

Going with the 32X11.50 maxxis buckshot.   4 new tires for $350.00.  Can't pass up the deal
